1. When was City Directory On Line first made available? Top
   March 24, 2008. On that date the Web site was available for businesses to add their listing. Because 100% of our listings are generated by businesses and not existing directory information, City Directory On Line will begin with few listings but grow constantly and exponentially as more and more businesses realize the value of listing with City Directory On Line.
2. Why did my search have no results? Top
   Your search results are directly related to businesses willing to list in that category. If you don't find any listings in the category you search, use the "Contact Us" link to notify City Directory and we will notify the local businesses related to that category. A business that is notified of people searching for but not finding their listing will be diligent to include their listing.
3. Why isn't my business listed? Top
   If you don't see your business listed you (or those managing your business) have not yet created a listing.
   Creating a listing is a 2 step process.
   Step 1: create an account.
   Step 2: create/add your listing.
   Your account allows you access to your listing(s) 24/7 for edits or updates.
   If you have created a listing but you do not see your listing, contact us with your information so that we may research the issue.
4. How can I add my listing? Top
   You can add your listing through our "Register Now" page, or by using the "Login" button above. Creating a listing in City Directory On Line is just that simple. Follow the prompts, fill in the information requested and your listing will be added.
5. How long will it take for my listing to appear? Top
   Your listing will appear immediately after you have completed the listing information process.

7. Can you explain how the packages work? Top
   City Directory On Line has 3 listings from which to choose.
   "Free" means exactly that. You provide your company name, address and telephone number, select "one" category that is most relevant to your business and your text-only listing will be found when someone searches that state, city and category.

   The "Basic" package includes the above plus your text listing links to a single page devoted to your listing that you maintain 24 / 7. You can include up to 3 images, write your own description and provide whatever information you wish. You will also have the option to select up to 5 categories related to your business. All this for only $7.99 per month.

   The "Premium" package includes all of the above plus you are automatically placed in "Featured Listings" at the top right area of each page in City Directory On Line where you see the light blue background. Each of these listings is a direct link to that business listing. Click on one and see how it works. Additionally, this package allows you to select up to 10 categories related to your business with the option to upgrade to as many as 15 related categories. The base-rate for the "Premium" package is only $12.00 per month.

9. Will you add a category? Top
   Absolutely! If you don't find an appropriate category for your business listing we will create a new category for you. Simply contact us with your suggestion and we will review the suggested addition. If we find it a category that is not similar to an existing category we will have yours added within 24 hours.

    97% of consumers use the Internet to research products or services in their local area. 90% of those consumers use Internet search methods compared to 48% using yellow pages. Between February 2007 and February 2008, local searches increased more than 76%. For 2010 and beyond the increase in local search will continue to rise. City Directory On Line has targeted Google as the search engine with which to have great rankings. As of September 2010, City Directory On Line is in the # 6 position in a search for 'city business directory online' with nearly 72 million search results. Today we see well over 10 billion unique searches are done each month, and that's only counting searches in the USA! 11. How many listings can I create? Top
    You can add as many listings as you desire. Once you create your account with your log in name and password, within that account you can create an unlimited number of listings. However, each listing requires additional fees. Our pricing applies to each listing, regardless of how many you create. You are also free to create additional accounts, for whatever reason. As a Web development company, however, we suggest you keep all of your listings within one account for simple housekeeping reasons.

13. How does the "Featured Listings" work? Top
    When you purchase the "Basic Package" listing you have a full-page listing. The "Premium Package" also has the full-page listing. In addition to the full-page listing with the "Premium Package" you have a text link that appears in the "Featured Listings". Each of the text links in the "Featured Listings" is arranged randomly. Each time a page is refreshed in a browser window, or, when you move to another page of the site, the list changes and the order is random. This allows all "Featured Listings" to have a chance at being at the top and/or near the top as often as any other text listing. The "Featured Listings" are found on every page. This allows each business as much exposure as possible. The "Featured Listings" window will never be longer than 10 text listings at a time. If a business has several listings, each of which is a "Premium Package", then that business will have several text listings in the "Featured Listings" and more opportunities to appear at the top.
14. What size should I make my images? Top
    There are 3 images that are allowed in any one listing for either the "INTRODUCTORY OFFER", "Basic" or "Premium" listing. No images are available with the "Free" listing. There is a thumbnail for each of the (up to 3) images in the lower right area of your listing. When clicked, the enlarged image will be displayed next to the map.
    
    The larger image width is 324 pixels wide and will adjust the length of your image in order to maintain the proportions with the width of your image. The width is the only dimension with which you need to be concerned. The thumbnail image is created by our system using the large image(s) you upload. So, simply make sure that for each of the (up to 3) images uploaded the width is 324 pixels. Our system will take care of the rest.
    If you would prefer to have your image fit perfectly, then create an image 324 pixels wide by 324 pixels high (a square image).
